MR POSTLETHWAITE AND THE GERALDINE RACECOURSE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am informed by one present at Mr Wakefield’s meeting held yesterday in Geraldine, that he made a statement regarding he vesting of the racecourse reserve, taling all the credit to himself for getting the reserve vested'. In justice to myself, I think that the following correspondence should appear in public print. * s ldnk no comment is required f-' m me < as telegrams speak f or -ueinselres, and show who really amoved the opposition Mr Wakefield an-tinipi-od from the Hon. Wm. Robeston, which opposition he alluded to in his speech made in Geraldine before going to Wellington last session. In writing to Mr Wakefield I forwarded him a copy of the telegrams, and pointed oul to him that I Mr Rolleaton’s opposition was removed; *
and that all he (Mr Waiceiield) would hat to do would be to introduce a Bill fc vesting the lan,'. i n the Rare Committee r. Trustees.—f am, &o , W. POSTLETHWAITE. Gerddine, Dec. 8. 1881.
