PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.
Amongst the numerous buildings at the present time in course of erection in the Arowhenua township is the Primitive Methodist Church, situate in Wilkin street. It is 26ft by 20ft, with 10ft walls, and entered by a neat porch, 6ft by sft, with a pretty window in front. It has a door on each s'de, which will p:ove a great c-Dvcrdem-e whan a strong wind is blowing. Ther ' are two windows • n e-'ch side, ani"i two in front of the Church. All of them are arched, wit!; an ornamental bracket. A door is situate in the back for general purposes. £ k :n-v * wi 11 be fitting accommodation for over 10u ,'ersous. At the eastern end of the interior there is a rostrum placed for tha preacher, capable of holding five persons. The seats, rostrum, dado, and roof will be staiac 1 and varnished, and the walk painted a Jii/et grey color. This wtil .materially relieve the appearance of the building, making it look light and cheerful. The exterior of the Church will also be Sintod. The front of the Church will ve a very neat appearance, being set. off

The contract price is .£139 but when lamps and other sundries are p.-iid for the sum will be considerably augmented. The contractor, Sir Comer is doing his vvorkiu a thorough workmanlike maimer,, quite to the satisfaction of the pastor and trustee.-, of the Church. It will be completed in a few days, and tlse opening sewic-s will be held on Sunday, December 11th. and Sunday, December 18th. Due notice will be given of the names of the minister who will preach the Services. It has ost no little amount of anxiety in these dull times to I purchase land etc, and to build even a sui'dl building, ami it is ro be hoped the j public will not forget the opening services j and tea meeting.
