ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, Nov. 21. An alliance having been arranged between Prince Leopold (Duke of Albany) and Princess Helena, fourth daughter of Prince George Victor of Waldeck,, one of the German principalities, the betrothal ceremony was celebrated at; Frankfort-on Saturday last. The fourth series.of wool sales opened to-day, with a good attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The first ceta comprised 4100 bales for which there was animated bidding. Prices for scoured and cross bred wools ruled from Id to l£d higher than at the close of" last sales. The present series of auctions will close on December 10th. Nov. 23.
A' general and gradual revival of Agrarian outrages and Boycotting has, of late been apparent in Ireland-, and the attitude of the Land League is causing much apprehension. The Times, in a leading article to day commenting upon,the present position of affairs in that country describes, the situation- afdisappointing and disquieting in Ytew of the recent labors of the-Land Commission for the determination of agrarian difficulties.
-v 4* AUSTRALIAN. Sydney, Nov. 24. A match between the English team and twenty-two of Maitland, New-Sonth Wales district, was' concluded at that, town to-day, and resulted in a draw ita.
