The Standard to-day pub ishes a tele gram from Natal stating that M-pocli, one of the leading chiefs in the Lydenbttrg district of the Transvaal Republic has declared war against the Boers, and that hostilities may shortly be expected. Nov. 17.. An extensive robbery was to-day committed «t the Hatton; Garden (London), Post-office, The gas in the office was suddenly turned off, and before it could be relighted a registe*ed bank packet, containing diamonds and other valuables worth LBo,oho was stolen* The robber has not yet been discovered. Alexandria, Nov 16.
Nows is to hand from A'abia that cholera has now broken out at Jidda, an important seaport on the Red sea, sixty miles west of Mecca, where the epidemic has been rapine fur some time past. A number of death already occurred at Jidda, and the mortality at Mecca is stated to be daily increasing.
