In the House of Commons last night during the consideration of the Irish Land Bill in Committee, the Right Hon W. E. Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, proposed as an amendment to one of the clauses that Governmen should be authorised to lend one half of the arrears of the Irish rents for the years of 1878 and 1879 in cash where tenants are L3O under the amount of their agreements with landlords. The proposal was debated at some, length, hut its farther discussion was adjourned to to-day’s sitting. In the House of Commons last night further progress was made in the consideration ot the Irish Land Bdl in Committee. Clauses seven to eleven were passed after debate, and progress was reported.
