Wellington, July 8. The New Zealand Government have determined that all vessels arriving from Chinese ports shall Le quarantined. A proclamation to this effect will be issued immediately. Dunedin July 8. Elliot, a very old miner in the Mount Ida district, has been killed by a fall of earth in his claim on the Kyebvrn diggings. On Wednesday £4,383 was paid as Cus, toms duty, probably in anticipation of tariff changes. This is the heaviest amount this year. Invercargill, July 8, The Town Council last night voted half the expenses of the Tararua Relief Committee. A remark was made by a councillor that the Union Company should have paid it.
