THE BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

A telegram published in the Lyttelton Times from its own correspondent at Wellington states that on Saturday last a meeting of members of both Houses favorable to Bibb- reading in schools was held. Present Hons. Brett, Miller, Menzies, and Peter, and Sir W. Fox, Messrs Stewart, Bain, Thomson, Macandrew, Fulton, and Jones After a long discussion it was resolved that a motion be tabled in both Houses asking Government to obtain expression of opinion from the people on the subject, on a plan similar to that adopted by the Bible in Schools Association. In the Lo*er House, Mr Macandrew will have charge of the motion; in the Upper, the Hon. JMenzies.
