The Daily News to-day publishes a paragraph staling that the English Government has sent a communication to the United States Government, calling attention to the present feature and extent of the Fenian movement iu England, and requesting that steps may be taken to prevent the operation of Fenians in America.

Telegrams are to hand from Panama reporting that there is considerable discontent, and consequent disorganisation among employees, on the canal works, and that the same are thereby being seriously impeded. Telegrams are to hand from Marseilles announcing that an extraordinary disturbance occurred there today, Several regiments of French troops, just returned from Tunis, were marching through the town, and on passing the building occupied by the Italian Club, they were hissed from a window by some ot the members ; there was a large number of people on the street at the time, and the actions of the Italians greatly incensed them. They angrily demanded that the Italian escutcheon should be removed from the Club, when a great scene of disorder ensued. A prefect arrived on the scene, »nd endeavored to calm the mob, against any violence ; but despite this protest, the deputy mayor of the town, who was present, took the lead of the crowd, and ascending a ladder, tore down the escutcheon with his own hands; order was then restored. The news of the occurrence has caused much excitement.

AUSTRALIAN. Sydney, June 17. The carpenter who caught small-po.c while working in Lower George street, opposite the house of one Chung, where the disease first broke out, died to-day. It is announced that Government intend proclaiming all China ports infected, and all vessels coming from thence will be placed in quarantine whether reported clean or infected. It is further stated that the steamship Ocean, due here with 410 Chinese, wilj be placed in quarantine and the restrictions of the Chinese Bill will probably be passed before she is released. Although rumors are freely current to- day of an outbreak of fresh Cases of smallpox in the city, no authentic information regarding any has been received by the authorities. Adelaide, Wheat is unchanged at 4s Bd. Flour is quoted at Lll 15s, and country brand 8 LlO 5s to LlO 10s.
