COMMERCIAL.

LONDON SEED TRADE. Messrs John Shaw and Sons, of 37 Mark Lane, London, report through their agent, Mr Leonard W. Blake of Christchurch that for the month ending April 21st a brisk demand existed for alt descriptions of farm seeds. Of clover the arrivals continued small, and stocks being light, very little will probably be left over at the end of the season. There was not much alteration in prices, red and white being perhaps a trifle lower, from cable advices received from America. It appeared that quotations for red seed ruled there, several shillings per cvvt higher than those current in London. There was a heavy demand for both Italian and Perennial rye. grasses at advanced rates with the supply getting short. Canary still neglected. Hemp 6d cheaper.
