RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT, TEMUKA.
Mondat, June 6, 1881. (Before J. Nugent Wood, Esq., R.M., and S. D. Barker, Emj., J.P.) assault. Hutt v. T. Palmer. ' On this case being ailed oa defendant did not appear in answer to the charge. In reply to the Bench, Sergeant Morton stated that he saw accused who said he would not attend as he had instructed his solicitor to appear for him. Ultimately the accused appeared in Court, and stated he had retained Mr flamersley, and asked-for an adjournment as the l itter had not arrived from Timatn The case was adjourned for a week, CIVIL CASES. T. Trengrove v. F. N. Burne—Claim £52 6s Bdon a dishonored promissory note. Judgment for amount claimed with costs £ll7s. Immediate execution to follow non-payment, Hutt y Palmer—Claim £1 Is for wages due. The amount had been paid into Court, but the fees had not been tendered at the same time. Judgment for amount paid into Court with costs 7s. Defendant informed the Court that he declined to pay costs.
