TEMUKA AND GERALDINE AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the new Committee elected at the annual meeting held on the 25th May, 1881, took placs the tame evanin v PBKSZKT Messrs Barker, Quinn, Wilion, Paterson, Gray, and Wills. ; revision or BTJXftr. The first business considered was therevision of the rules of the Aswciationv After some discussion it was resolved —" That Rule 11 be expunged, and thetollowing substituted in its place, viz., " Rule 11—Meetings of the members may be held at such times as the business of the Association may require; such: meetings to be called by advertisement on the authority of the President, or inhis absence the Vice-President, or - inwriting by five members of the Auocia* tion. . - <*Rule 12- The Committee and officebenrers shall meet at such times as may - be determined upon to transact any buai- - ness connected with the objects qfvtfcjt Association. All such meetings sbafrrSjk presided! over by the President, or in his absence by the Vice-President, or in the absence of both the meeting shall elect a chairman from the members present. At every meeting of the Committee five members shall form a quorum,. and all questions shall be decided by the majority of votes, or show of hands. The: Chairman shall have a casting vote in addition to his own. "Rule 13—A Secretary shall be appointed and be removable by the Com' mittee> who shall fix his salary. Th*^
duties of the Secretary «lih]l be to keep the records and minutes of the Association ; to receive all letters and applications; to arrange all business for the consideration of the Committee ; to con-
duct the correspondence under the direction of the Committee ; to advertise or give notice of the meetings of the AssociaCommittee ; to keep the accounts of "the Association; to collect all fees, subscriptions and other moneys due to the Association and pay the same to the Treasurer, and to assist in all matters connected with the affairs of the Association. All payments to be made in cheques, under warrant of the Treasurer, and countersigned by the Secretary.
"Rule 14—The minutes of all meetings of the Committee -shall be confirmed at the following meeting respectively, an I signed by the Chairman. After the minutes of the previous meeting have been read, the Secretary shall read all correspondence, statements, and other general information that may have been received, and bring forward :any business that may have been prepared by the Committee or otherwise. Discussion and resolutions, if necessary, shall follow thereon ; after-which reports of Subcommittees shall be received, and taken into consideration, and until such business is disposed of no new buEiriess shall b\ entertained."
Proposed by Mr Gray, seconded by Mr t\~ilson, and carried—" That the rules as revised be adopted." MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS. Resolved—" That a Sub-Committee, consisting of Messrs Quinn, Gray, and Willis, see Mr Cliff to arrange with him to give up the ground, by remitting to him half of the last year's rent as compensation for the same." Eesolved—•» That each paid-up member of the Association be supplied with a copy of the revised Rules—the Secretary to get a sufficient number printed for that purpose." ACCOUNTS. Certain accounts having been passed for payment, the meeting terminated.
