RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT TEMUKA.
Monday, May 2, 1831. (Before J. K Wood, Esq., R.M.) CATTLE TRESPASS. —Burke was charged with allowing two head of cattle to wander at large in Sund-holme-street, Temuka, on 25th April last. The offences being proved, his Worship fined the accused Is each cow and costs. Johanna Murphy was charged with allowtwo head of cattle to wander at large In Studholme street.
la consequence of the accused being a poor woman, the Magistrate dismissed the case, warning her, however, that if she were summonsed again h e should fine her ~ss per head. Robert Don vas charged with alowing six head of cattle to wander at large in a public thoroughfare' The accused was fined 5s and eosts. G. Thompson was charged with allowing three bead of cattle to wander at large in a public thoroughfare.
The accused was find 2s and costs,
William Ormond was charged with allowing one head of cattle to wander at large and was fined Is and costs. Eli Pratley was charged with allowing one head of cattle to stray in Sfcudholmestreet on 25th April last.
The case was dismissed with a caution
—Ward was charged with allowing one head of cattle to wander at large, and was fined Is and costs.
CIVIL CASES. Murray Bros, v Holloway—Claim £ll. Judgment by default with costs. K. F. Gray v Jas Reid—Claim £23 15s j Judgment by default with costs. P. Coira '-'■ The sum of £1 4s had been paid into Court. Judgment given by default for the balance, 3s 6d. Roddick v Hay—Claim £Blos 7d. In this casae the account was disputed in regard to some of the items. After a long hearing his Worship gave judgment for £4 19s sd, and costs lis.
"WV McCarthy v. Williams—Claim £B7 18s. Mr Johnston appeared for plaintiff. Plaintiff nonsuited without costs.
