A STRANGE COINCIDENCE.

By a ouriQ'is coincidence, the 94th Regiment, which has suffered at the hands of the Boers, was formerly in the service of the Dutch Government. It was raised as the Scotch Brigade for service in Holland during the heroic struggle of the Netherlands with Spain, And remained in Dutch pay until 1790, when it was recalled to England in consequence of its officers having refused the demand of the Dutch Government to renounce their allegiance to George 111. The regiment was at the Cape of Good Hope soon after England had captured the colony from the Dutch, and the present Boers, the descendants of the old Dutch settlers, may be well aware of its history and antecedents, though forgetful or unaware of the fact that the old 94th was disbanded in 1818, only, however, to be raised again at a subsequent period, a large u umber of the old rank Bpd, filc and officers rejoining.
