Australian best beef tallow, is unchanged, at 335, and best mutton at 35ts. per cwt, The homeward Australian, mails, via Suez and Brindisi, were delivered here to-day. Government has instituted, proceedings against a newspaper called Die Freiheit (The Liberty), an organ of German Socialists, printed and issued in London, for publishing an article eulogising the act of the murderer of the Czar, and urging the assassination of other Crowned Heads, to gain the ends of Socialism.

It is announced that the Ambassadors of the Powers at Constantinople, acting under instruction from their Government. have intimated to the Porte their acceptance of its last proposal for the settlement of the Greek frontier question, namely to cede to Greece a larger extent of teritory in Thessaly than previously offered, but the district of Epirus and the Island of Crete to remain to Turkey, Consols are unchanged at par.

Australian tallow has advanced sixpence per cwt. Quotations to-day are:— Best beef, 33s 6d ; best mutton, 36s 6d. Australian and blew Zealand breadstuffs are without quotable change. The Editor of the German Socialist organ, Die Freiheii, whhh is to he prosecuted for eulogising the murder of the Czar has been arrested on warrant issued under the prosecution.
The bulletin issued tins-evening reA garding' the health of Earl Beaconsfield reports that he’ has suffered a relapse and is now in a critical state. Much anxiety is felt throughout the country in regard to His Lordship’s illness. Athens, March 29. The Greek Army Corps has been ordered to the frontier in view of the possibility of war with Turkey. Should war break out the corps will concentrate at Chalcis, a seaport seventeen miles north-east of Thebes and an important stratagetical position near the frontier.
In accordance with the decision of the Powers to accept the Porte’s proposal to cede the territory in Thessaly alone' to Greece, the Envoys of the Powers in this city are strongly urging- the Hellenic Government to agree to the proposal, and thus arrive at a settlement of the Turco-Greek difficulty.
March 30. The Greek Press to-day, in discussing the proposals made by the Porte for the settlement of the frontier question, bitterly repudiate any obligation on the part of Greece to accept the terms offered by Turkey, and urge a, firm refusal of the same.
AUSTRALIAN., Melbourne, March 30. The Legislative Council will to-day discuss a motion to be introduced by the Hon Mr Cuthbert in favor of the Reform Bill being read a first time under protest. Later.
The Legislative Council this evening waived the objections previously raised to the consideration of the Reform Bill and read the measure a first time after a short debate. The second reading is made an order of the day. for Tuesday next. ~ , March 31.
It has transpired that confidential communications have passed between Government and the leaders of the Opposition in the Legislative Council with a view to bringing about harmony on the Reform question.

The Jury for the Fine Arts section of the International Exhibition have awarded the*American Waltham Watph Cprapany first order of merit for en r graving and enamelling. The Company thus takes the highest award, for watches.
