TEA MEETING AT MILFORD.

A tea meeting, in aid of the fund of the Wesleyan Church, TemukV, was held in the schoolroom, Milford, on Tuesday evening last, and was exceedingly well patronised. The tables, which were laden with a variety of comestibles—tempting to the eye, and delightful to the taste—were presided over hy Mrs Park and the Misses Roberts, Green, Owing to a severe domestic affliction, the Circuit Minister, Rev. W. L. Harper, was unable to . attend, but deputed the Rev, J. J. Lewis to officiate on his behalf. After the tables were cleared the chair was taken by A. Cox, Esq., when a ,most enjoyable musical programme, alternating with* addresses, wae successfully carried out, the Chairman kindly lending his piano for the occasion. Some very pleasing duets were rendered by the Misses Cox and Hewlings, and a most effective song by Miss Brown. Thanks to the cordial co-operation of the Revs. Chaffers-Welsh and D. Gordon there was no lack of oiatorical talent, and the evangelical spirit evinced by all the speakers, was such as is calculated to develop that Christian charity which Hood truly says “is a rarity under the sun. At the close, Mr Hayhurst hioved a vote of thanks to the ladies who had furnished the tables, and to all who had contributed to the success of the meeting. A vote of thanks to the chair, proposed by Mr Brown, concluded the proceedings.
