Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 84s ; New Zealand wheat, ex ship, 45s ; Australian beef tallow has advanced one shilling per cwt, and is now quoted at 33s fid. At the wool sales to-day 8000 bales were catalogued. There was a fair demand . The Board of Trade returns for thepast month were published to-day. The imports amounted to L 85,625,000, being an increase of L 3,375,000, compared with the corresponding month of last year. The exports reached a total of L1fi,812,500, and show a n increase of L3t12,500, under game comparison. In the House of Commons the Premier was questioned regarding a statement in the Daily News that % week’s, armistice had been" proclaimed in the Transvaal. Mr Gladstone, in eply, confirmed the announcement, ft nd added that the armistice had been agreed to, to enable Kruger, the BoerPrestdent, to reply to conditions of peace which had been submitted to him by SirEvelyn Wood.. He also further stated that during tho time of the Sir Evelyn Wood would be allowed to re victual the Bntish garrison in ’ the Transvaal. ■
