THE TEMUKA MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —After the * Society had i eceived cons : dernble instruction on " The Laws of Thought" Xam surprised to find that they have made a great error in mental Bcience in the wording of the subject for their first debate. It isttsual to put the proposition in such, a form that the members can record their vote as "aye" or "no." The method of wording the subject of debate, " Which is the better form of Government—a Limited Monarchy or a Republic," adopted by ths Temuka Society, does not admit of an answer—- " yes," or ••' no." The subject of discussion ought to have been worded, "'lsa Limited Monarchy a better form of Government than a Republic ?" In this form the proposition admits of an affirmative or negative answer. —I am, etc., Aeistophanbs.
