WANTED-AN INSPECTOR OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.

TO THE EDTIOR. Sib,—After the splendid harvest and abundance of grain, and the price of flour low, I find the bakers in Temuka do not reduce the"price of the 41b loaf; but some of them, if not all, considerably lowers the weight. Yesterday I weighed two of what was supposed to be 41b loaves. In one loaf half a pound was short, and the other considerably more than half a pound. The above are not isolated cases. Having tallied the weight for a longtime, I find I am short one loaf out of every sixteen on au average,—l am, etc , AN HONEST MAN. Temuka, Feb. 22, 1881.
