(Before hi. Wood, Esq., R.M.) POLICE CASES. Greedy was charged by the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages with having neglected to register the birth of his child. The information was laid under “The Registration Act, 1875.” The defendant was fined 5s and costa. CIVIL CASES. Murray Bros. v. Joseph Brown—Claim £lO 14s ; judgment summons. Defendant did not appear. Ordered to pay the amount forthwith or, in default, three weeks imprisonment in Timaru gaol. - Gumming and Hayes v. W. Ray—Claim £4 Bs. Judgment for amount claimed and costs." Defendant was ordered to pay £1 per month. Same v. Thoreau —Claim £3 2s 6d. Judgment for amount, claimed and costs. Same v. Gillian—Olaim £2 12s fid. Judgment for amount claimed and costs.

Same v. Blissett —Claim £5 ss. Judgment for amount claimed and costs. Same v. H. Eagle—Claim £2 12a 6d. Mr Austin appeared for the plaintiffs. Defendant put in a plea of bankruptcy in 1879. There being no proof before the Court of his bankruptcy, judgment was given for plaintiffs for amount claimed and costs.
