PARK BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Board look place at the Star Hotel, on Thursday last. Present Messrs Wilson (Chairman) Paterson, and Barker. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read : From Mr Blackadder, Dunedin, in reference to garden seats. From the Rev Father Fauvel thanking, the Board for a gift of the price of quicks the same to go to the Town Bell Fund. From the caretaker reporting for the past month* From Mr Dyson giving measurement of the land under crop. From Mr Wheelband enclosing account for trees, &c.; also several other accounts. MISOELIiANEOUS The state of the funds being found very low, it was resolved to allow nearly all the accounts to stand over till rent of land becomes due at the end of the. present month Some conversation took place as to the advisability of procuring a glass-covered case to propagate cuttings of the most valuable shrubs, etc. Regret was expressed at the Cricket and Foot Ball Clubs being defunct. It was unanimously resolved that, as there is at present no. Cricket Club in existence, the Board take charge of the grounds, and that the Secretary be empowered to make terms with seme one to remove the surplus grass Mr S. D. Barker was appointed ranger for the ensuing month The meeting then adjourned till the first Thursday in January
