Secretary, pro tem : John Bradshaw, Esq. The Promoters of this Association wish to bring before the Public of Canterbury the great gams to be derived by establishing in their midst a Company, to be worked purely on Co-operative principles, having certain objects.for the furtherance of Farming interests, and offering a great financial saving to each individual member of the Public who may become Shareholder. The Piobio ets, also, have great confidence in biing.ng this Association hefore' the Public, as similar Cooperative Inst.itu j lions have been most, successful in ail parts j of the world. j Amongst the most: important objects of I the Association are the following • ! To pro me for its Members gre.ter faeilities than at present exisr, fur the; shipping of their prod u>e to the consuming markers of the world. This lite Association will do by exporti g tlie produce for its Shareholders at the lowest rates in ■ bartered ships, allowing Shareholders advances on the proclcce so shipped or <ie posited with the Company for shipment or sale at the lowest rates. This the Pro inoters think will be o: thegieustest advon tage as the rates usually charged iu Can terbury are excessively high. The holders of the. Association will therefore be in a position to ship their produce for sale to the best markets, instead, as has been so often the case, especially season, ■bt being foived to sell iu this country at most ruinous prices, and far below the value in other markets. Also great btiiefit will be found in that the Association will procure Comsat ks, Woolpacks, Agricultural Implements, Seeds, and all articles of consumption, at the lowest cost, that are useful to its Snareholders. By these means great saving will be effected, as the difference between the price of ali articles in New Zealand and in the places of their manufacture, whether of husbandry or of general consumption, is far greater than many individual purchasers are aware of. The Association will undertake any business' and make all arrangements that may be necessary with other firms for the furtherance- and belter carrying out ofils objects. • The Directors are empowered by the Articles of Association to make advances to its Shareholders on properties or other securities as they may think fit. The benefits derivable from the Association will be strictly confined to is Shareholders. The profits of the Association, after paying interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum on paid-up ■coital, wil! be divided amongst all the Shareholders pro rata'according to the amount of business done by each shareholder. A meeting, of the Provisional Directors will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Timaru, on Saturday,, November 27th, when the shares then applied for will be alloted, and the dale for the general nice - ing of Miareholders fixed for the appointment of Directors and the settlement of the Articles of Association. Forms of application for shares and *ny infonnaiiuirtmiy. bo had at the Offices of the National Bank, and its branches, any of the Directors, Mr Koger Kitt, of Waitnate ; and .Mr Corbott, of Gp-raidine Intending applicants can persue tlie proposed - Articles of Memorandum of Association at either the National Bank Offices, Timaru ; or at the Offi.es of A St. Hamersley, Solicitor, Gieat North Road, Timaru. JOHN BUCKLE, Esq., will, before the meet ng .o be held on the 27th No- # .vember, 1880, visit the towns and d.stricts i of South Canierbitry to leceive applica I tions for Shares, and u> give any infoiina tion that may be required as to the objects, ' oic, of the Association. 13no
