Secretary, pro tem. : John Bradshaw, Esq. The Promoters of this Association wish to bring before the Public of Canterbury; the great gains to be derived by establishing in their midst a Company, to be worked purely on'Go-operative '.principles, having certain objects for the furtherance of Farming interests, and offering a great financial saving to each individual member of the Public who may become Shareholder. Thu Promo'ers, also, have great confidence in bringing this xVs?s3ciation before the Public, as simihir Cooperative Institu tions have been most successful in all parts of the world. Amongst the most important objects of the Association are the following : To procure fur its Members' greater facilities than at present exisf, for the shipping of their produce to the '-onsuming markers of the world. This (he Association will do by exporti; g the produce for its Shareholders at the lowest rates in charte;ed ships, allowing Shareholders advances on the produce so shipped or de posited with the Company for shipment or sale at the lowest rales. This the Pro moters think will be ol ihegreastest advan tage as the rates usually charged iu Cau terbury are excessively high. The Share holders of the Association will therefore be in a position to ship their produce for sale to the best markets, instead, as has been so often the case, especially last season, ot being forced to sell in this country at most ruinous prices, and far below the value in other/markets.. Also great benefit will be found in that the Association will procure Cornsacks, Woolpacks, Agricultural Implements, Seeds, and all articles of consumption, at the lowest cost, that are useful to its Shareholders. By these means great saving will be effected, as the difference between the price of alt articles in New Zealand and in the places of their manufacture, whether of husbandry or of 1 general consumption, is far greater than many individual ''-purchasers are aware of. The Association will undertake any business and make all arrangements that may be necessary with other firms for the furtherance and better carrying out of its objects. The Directors are em towered by the Articles of Association to make advances to its Shareholders on properties or other securities as they may think fit. The benefits derivable from the Association will be strictly confined to itsShareholders. The profits of the Association, after paying interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum on paid-up capital, will be divided amongst all the Shareholders pro rata according to the amount of business done by each shareholder. A meeting of the Provisional Directors will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Timuru, on Saturday, November 27th, when the shares then'applied for will be alloted, and the date for the general mee - ing of Shareholders fixed for the appointment of Directors and the settlement of the Articles of Association. Forms of application for shares and any information may be had at the Offices of the Natioual Bank, Timaru, and its i branches, any cf the Directors, Mr Roger . Jutt, of Waimate ; and Mr CorheU, of Geraldine , „ I Intending applicants can peraue the 'proposed Articles of Memorandum of Association at either the National Bank Offices, Timaru ; or at the Offices of A. St. Hamersley, Solicitor, Great North ! Boad, Timaru.
