Treasurer; yjoshua Page, Esq. Hon. Secretary, pro tbm : John Bradshaw, Esq. The Promoters of this Association wish to bring before the Public of Canterbury the. great gains to be derived by establishing in their mblst a Company, to be worked purely on Co-operative principles, havim* certain objects for the furtherance of Farming interests, and offering a great financial saving to each individual member "f tli4BnhU- who may become Shareholder. £ The Pramo'era, alsio, have great confidence iii bringing this Association before the PubliejUs similar Cooperative Institu tions have§b?en most successful in. all parts of the worfd. Amongst the most important objects of the Association are the following :• T<> pro<|ure for its Members greater facil ties tfUii at preseiit exist, for the shipping of|their produce to the consuhiing markeis of Mie world. This the Association will do by exporting the produce for its Shareholder* at the lowest rates iu charteied slfips, allowing Shareliolders advances on the produce so shipped or de posited with4he Company for shipment or Kile at the lowest rates. This the Pro motors think|will b,e of thegreastest advon tage as the rates usually charged iu pan terbury are excessively high. The holders of the Association will therefore be in a position to ship their produce for sale to the bW markets, instead, as has been so often the case, especially last season* ot being forced to sell in this country at most ruinous prices, and far bulo* the valtte in other markets. Also great benefit will he found in that the Association will procure Oorns, acks, Woolsacks, Agricultural Implements, Seeds, and all articles of consumption, at the lowest cost, that are useful to its Shareholders. By these means great saving will be effected, as the difference between the price of all articles in New Zealand arid in the places of their manufacture, whether of husbandry or of general consumption, :r far greater than many individu ti purchasers are aware of. The JUsocintion will undertake any busiu- ss ami ui Ue all arrangements that may he necessary with other firms for the furtherance and better carrying out of its objects. The Directors are empowered by the Articles of Association to make advances to its Shareholders:; on properties or other securities as they may think fit. The benefits derivable from the Association will be s.trictly confined to its Shai ebolders. The; profits of the Association, after paying interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum on paid-up capital, will be divided amongst all the Shareholders pro rata acqordiqg tp the amount of business done by each'shareholder, i A meeting of the Provisional Directors will be held at the; Grosye, nor.
