Melbourne, Oct. 22. The proposed conterence on postal matters has fallen through, the various colonies invited to join having declined the proposal. It is probable, however that a conference of the Australian color nies will be held on the subject of border duties. The Commission of enquiry Which was appointed some time _ ago to., examine into the charges against District* Court Judge Meynott has brought up its report, and Government now require Judge Meynott to show causn against his removal from his positioa. Oct. 2*. A Bill has been int oduced by Government in Parliament to provide for the issue of Treasury, bonds. An excellent road has been found to Port Parker, in the Gulf of Carpentaria, together with a splendid aitefer a township, at the terminus of the proposed railway;
