MILFORD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the above Committee was held on Wednesday last. PRESENT. Messrs Cox (Chairman), Colville, May, Brodgen, Woodley. MINUTES. The minutes of the meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. 1. From the Board intim itiug that teacher's salary, up to 30th September, had been placed to the credit of the Committee 2 From the head teucher enclosing quarterly returns of attendance ; also a statement of quarterly salarly, and culling attention to the incomplete arrangements connected with the closets, and urging the adoption of an improved system. Accounts ordered to be paid—A. Colville, £2 15s ; Mrs Brogden, 6s. Resolved —"That a contract be entered into with White, for an annual payment of £5, to keep the closets in a proper state ; also than an arrangement be made with Mas White for washing out the school-room once a fortnight for the sum of £3 per aunum." Resolved —"That the Chairman communicate with the Board as to the desirableness of further accommodation in connection with a urinal. Resolved—" That the Board be again reminded of the fact of there being no pupil teacher or sewing mistress yet appointed ; and that the Chairman should point out that if the head teacher has put upon him the additional duty of 'pupil teacher' that he ought to huve paid to him the salary attached to the office." Resolved—" That ach : ldreu's entertainment be got up in three or four weeks from {the present time in aid of a prize fund to be expenued in prizes for distribution at the annual school examination."
