CRICKET MATCH.
The match arranged to take place on Saturday last between the married v single did not come off, owing to the nonattendance of nearly all the married men. This dues not anger well for cricket in Temuka, That the members should show such indifference at the ■commencement of the season is a great pity, and we trust the cricketers in our midst will bestir them selves, and he a little more punctual in fcheii attendance, and not allow a game, arranged some days previously, as was in this instance, to fall through by their non-attendance. No doubt the rifle shoot, ing that took place on the same day had something to do with it. However, a scratch match was arranged on tu ground, sides being chosen by Messrs T. Olhvier and Burrows. It was u very uneven game, us the bowling on Odivier’s sole was very weak. The match resulted in an easy victory for Burrows’ side. We append the scores : burrows’ side. • • G.
