MILFORD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of the above was held on the 13th inst. PRESENT. Messrs Cnx (chairman), Woodhead, Woodley, Brogden, and Colville. MINUTES. The minutes of (he former meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. The following letters were received : From the Board enclosing teacher's salary to end of August. Also circular letter to Committee iu respect to "incidental expenses." * From Mr Craig, late head teacher, handing over £1 2s 6<l, being balance of a sum entrusted to him for expenditure in school books. A report from Mr Mossman, present head teacher, upon the requirements of the school, all of which he deems necessary to its efficient management. The Committee having considered the report, resolved, " that it was not expedient to apply to the Board at present for additional accommodation, or for extended porch accommodation, with lavatory. Ordering in the meanwhile an inexpensive washing apparatus to be set up in the yard, which would answer the purpose during the summer months." REPORT. The Chairman reported that no answer had yet been received intimating that a set of new desks, such as had been recommended by the Inspector, would be suppliad. SUNDRIES. The Chairman was authorised to apply to the Board for maps of New Zealand, showing counties, and for certain other things thought necessary by the head teacher for the use of the school. Also to write to the Board urging them to lose no time in supplying the school with a pupil teacher and sewing mistress, pointing out the impossibili'y of justice being done to the Elementary Classes in the absence of the first.

Other suggestions relating to minor matters were then considered, and the Chairman authorised to Bee to their settlement.
