Melbourne Sept. 13. Heavy rain has fallen, and portions of Jboth Melbourne and Geelong are flooded. Later. The Departure of the Ringarooma for New Zealand is postponed until Thursday, owing to the Yarra having over flowed its banks. Serious inundations ■ have been caused, and traffic with several of the suburbs is stopped. The J< wer portiom of Melbourne near the river are in high flood, and business there is suspended. Messrs M‘Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.’s office is flooded, and they have taken temporary premises. Latest. , The floods in Melbourne are rapidly subsiding. In consequence of the flood, it is expected the races In honor of Sir Hercu es liobinson will be held at Gaultield, Sydney Sept. 13. On the arrival of the Rotomaliana this morning from Auckland Sir Hercules Robinson was received by a guard ot h0..0r and escorted to Government House where he will be the guest of L>rd Augustus Lpftus during his stay in Sydney.
