Adelaide, Aug. 11.

The Treasurer made his Financial Statement in the Legislative Assembly last night, and showed that the revenue for the past financial year amounted to £1,831,000, being £245,000 below the estimate, and leaving a debit balance of £243,000, exclusive of L 30,000 appearing on the Supplementary Estimates. He estimates the revenue for the present year at L 2,013,000 and the expenditure at L 1,945,000 (?), leaving a deficit of L 175, 000 which will be covered by new taxes. The latter, however, will be reduced in view o f the elections which will • shortly take place.
