Arrived—Tararua, from Bluff. At the sheep sales to-day, Mr Gardiner, of New Zealand, bought Adelaide rams r at 80 and 120 guineas. Mr Hall, of New Zealand, purchased a flock of Tasmanian ewes, and the New Zealand and Australian Land Company also purchased some high priced rums.

Adelaide, Aug. 11.

The Treasurer made his Financial Statement in the Legislative Assembly last night, and showed that the revenue for the past financial year amounted to £1,831,000, being £245,000 below the estimate, and leaving a debit balance of £243,000, exclusive of L 30,000 appearing on the Supplementary Estimates. He estimates the revenue for the present year at L 2,013,000 and the expenditure at L 1,945,000 (?), leaving a deficit of L 175, 000 which will be covered by new taxes. The latter, however, will be reduced in view o f the elections which will • shortly take place.
