Elections to the Italian arliument are now proceeding, and Garibaldi has chosen the opportunity to address a letter to the electors, in which he severely attacks the present dynasty, and declares that it is ruining Italy. Valparaiso, May 26. The ship Antipodes, bound from Sydey to London, which put in here recently iu a leaky state an I had to discharge cargo, will probably have to be condemned. London, May 27. The London Press confirm a report which has lately been circulated to the effect that the Araeership of Afghanistan has been offered to the Afghan pretender, Abdul Rahman Khan. The offer is said to have been made in consequence of Abdul Rahman’s friendly relations with the British Government, and in order to conciliate the Afghans and maintain (he dynasty of Dost Mahomed. The total reserves in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is L 15,750,000. At the wool sales to-day 11,500 bales were offered, making a total of 3,000,500 catalogued since the opening. The tone of tc—days sales showed that prices were firmly maintained. The withdrawals Irom the s dcs tr date amount to 14,000 bales.
