Interest at the rate of 4 to 4-| per cent per annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 8 to 4 per cent, per annum on sums under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interea be allowed on : more than £SOO.
