Any person or persons slaughtering, or permitting to be slaughtered, cattle for sale, barter, or shipping, shall pay to the Clerk of the Council a fee for a license or renewal of a license, as follows, viz. :- If the number slaughtered is not mom than two large or ten small cattle per weak, the sum of L2 ; if more than two large or ten Bmr.ll cattle per week, the sum of L 5. Every keeper of a Slaughter-house shall at al times keep the same and tne premise i connected therewith, and the appurtenances thereto belonging, In a ckan state, free from effluvia, and in all respe'-ts to the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed, or to be appointed, under the Raid Act; and every such keepnr of a Slaughter-house shall so dispose of the blood, offal, drainage, and other refuse matter therefrom, that the same shall not create a nuisance,, nor be offensive to persons residing or being in or passing through the neighborhood of such Slaughter-house ; an 3 no keeper of a Slaughter-house shall permit aiy blood, offal, drainage, or refuse~mutter to accumulate in or upon or about the same, or on the premises connected therewith, or to fIoAV. fall, or be thrown or put into any river, stream, drain, or watercourse. Every person who shall commit a breach of tlui above Regulations shall, on convic tion thereof, he liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds.
