TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.

The Board met on April 6th, 1880. Members present : Messrs Talbot (Chairman), Ensor, Quinn and Barker. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mr P. Warning interviewed the Board with reference to certain road drains at Milford, asking to have them cleaned out. Ordered that the Surveyor attend to the matter at once. Mr Hayhnrst junr., attended to ask the Board to c< nsider their resolution with reference to dam across the Sod Town creek, stating that the dam did not affect tho creek so far back as stated by th Inspector. Mr Hayhnrst promised to attend to the former resolution of the Board ; to lower the dam every fortyeight hours, which the Board ugreedto for tho present. Mr A Russell attended to ask tho Board in re forming and shingling Wilkin and Denmark streets Tenders to be called for same. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr Beetham in ro the Orari Valuation Roll ; also to send notice to Mr Hayhurst that shingle will be required for Mr dyne's Road Resolved that day men in future only get 7s a day, to take effect from date Tender.-! to ho calle.l for drain at Malaky's The valnatit n roll was put on tho table with the signature of the Judgo of the Assessment Court attached, which the Board approved of It was resolved that tho Overseer be instructed to inspect tho drain at tho road near Dickenson's mill, and place peg on mill side of the road abovo the drain, as high as ho considers advisable, in accordance with tiie Act, and that Mr Dickenson bo instructed not to raise tho water abov; the mark Resolved that the Returning Officer hold another election of one member of the Board, in place of Mr Ilayhutst resigned The following tenders were then opened and considered : No 7, G Cassey, LI per chain • No 8, G Cassey, LI per chain ; G- Cassey, Lll 19s per chain ; No 10, S Flynn, 7s per chain ; No 11, C Flynn, Is 9d per yard ; N 12, C Bishop, 2s Gd per chain ; No 13, P Faull, 6s lOd per chain ; No 14, M 0 Connell, Is 6d per yard ; No 15, D McCarthy, Ll2O 5s ; No 16, J J Connor, Is i er yard ; No 17, M Sheehen, LIOO ;No 18,too high; No 19, C Flynn, Is 7d per yard Tho Board then adjourned
