Losrcox, Ann i! 1. The general elections continue. 00 Liberals and sixty - one Conservatives have been returned for new Parliament. Liberals, so far, have gained thirty-five seats which, were held in tho last Parliament by Conservatives, and the latter have gained five seats formerly held by Liberals. Election for Birmingham resulted in tho return of Messrs Bright, Muntz, and Chamberlain. For Hackney, tho late Liberal members, Messrs Hold man and Fawcett, also rave been re-cleeted. For Westminster, tho Hon. W. H. Smith, hirst Lord of the Admiralty, and Ohas. Hassell, have been returned.

LATE TELEGRAMS. Whut.ixotox, April 2. Catherine McColl, aged GO, was burnt to death last night, or early this morning, under horrible circumstances. She was housekeeper to a gentleman named John McLau Ulan, and was last seen by him about twelve o’clock last night, wlCn she was lying on a sofa, helplessly drank. He left her there and went to bod, leaving a candle burning. Ou.rishig this, morning ho found her charred remains. With the exception of herstayes all her clothing was burnt, and portions of the wall bad also been on fire. Mr McLaughlan states that he heard no noise during the night, and is unable l;0 say how she was burnt.
