The Government have decided to dismiss the Parliamentary librarian.
Mr Higginbotham has been reinstated in his former position of En-ginoer-in-Chief of Railways in Victoria. Watson, the late Engineer-in-Ohiof, refuses to accept his old position, and retires from the public service. Arrived—Arawata, from New Zealand .
The following is a correction of telegram sent on Wednesday ;—St. Petersburg March 23.—0 n the occasion of the Birthday of the Emperor of Germany yesterday, fhe Czar made a speech, in the course of which he said he hoped the present satisfactory relations between Germany and Russia would be maintained. The official statement of the South Australian Wheat statistics show that the total acreage is J ,458,096, producing 14,260,964 hush. Tlio average yield is 9 bushels 471bs per acre for the past season.
