Regulations for the Licensing and Management of Slaughter-Houses, and Inspection thereof, and of Cattle intended for Slaughter in the County of Geraldine. IN Pursuance of the provisions of “ Tne Slaughter Houses Act, 1877 ” the County Council of the County of G >mldine hereby order as follows, that is to say : Interpretation. 1. Wherever in these Regulations any of (he terms mentioned in secJmi 5 <-f the said Act are used, such term shall _in the construction hereof have (he meanings assigned to them by the said secrion of the said Act, unless there he something in the context or subject-matter repugnant t ereto. Fees. 2. Any person ow prisons slaughtering, or permitting to bf slaughtered, cattle foi sale, barter, or Ihi/p ik# shall pay to the Clerk of the Crfnxjfcil a fee for a license or renewal of a licerfee as follows, viz. .~ylf the number shiuahtercd is not more tuan two largo or fen Small cattle per week, the sum of L2 ; if more than two large or ten small cattle per week the sum of L 5. Slaughter-Houses to be Kept Clean. 3, Every keeper of a Slaughter-!muse shall at all times keep the same and the premises connected therewith, and the appurtenances thereto belorging,_ina dean state, free from offensive effluvia, and in all respects to the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed, or to be appointed, under t'-e said Act ; and every snen keeper of a slaughter-house shall «o dispose of the blood, offal, drainage, and other refuse-matter therefrom, that the same shall not create a musaum , nor he offensive to >ersons residing or b- ing in or passing through the neighborhood of am-h slang!d; r-house ; and no keeper < f a rde-indit‘T-house shall permit any blood, offal, drainage, or reluse-matter to ac*,umcliitc in or upon oi about the same, or on the premises connected thorewilh,. or t.o (low, fall, or he thrown or put into any river, stream, drain, or watercourse. Every person who shall commit a breach of the above Regulations shall, on conviction ihereof, lie liable to a penalty not e• c- ding five pounds.
