DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.

The Temulra No 1., Company Volunteers competed for the above firing at Winchester, yesterday, Capfc Young in command, and Staff Sorgt-Jlajor Morgan superintended the firing The weather was rather bright, with a slight N E wind blowing all day, and the scoring, as will be soon by the scores below, was not so good as on former occasions.\ This may be accounted for by the fact that those members residing in and about Temuba Were unable to practice through being deprived of the use of their butts,and consequently have been unable to practice The ranges were 100, 500, and 600yds ; seven shots a. each range. The following are the six highest scorers :

After firing, the company were put through field drill by Staff Sergeant-Major Morgan, and were then dismissed.
