MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Bo ml was held in the Road Board office, Peel Forest, on Priday, the 20th inst. 31 UMBERS PRESENT. Present— The Hon J. B. Acland (Chairman), Messrs C. G. Tripp, and Honey. MINUTES. Hie minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. COKKESPONPENCE. The following correspondence was then read: Prom Mr J. L. Wilson in reference to breaking metal, and asking if the Board could find work for his horses when not engaged in shifting the stone crusher. The Clerk was directed to reply and inform Mr Wilson that although the Board will not guarantee to furnish sufficient work for his horses, they would be willing to give him the carting of boulders at the same ptice as it is done at by contract. From the General Crow n Lands office, Wellington, with reference to leasing Crown reserves. From Messrs Harper, Harper and Scott, with reference to the agreement between Mr Wilson and the Board. From the Treasury, Wellington,informing the Board that the sum of L4HB 18s 11 has been remitted to the Board’s credit with the Union Bank of Australasia,being the Board’s share of LIOO,OOO surplus land revenue. From the Union Bank of Australasia, advising the Board of (he receipt of the same. From Col. Backs, consenting to Uio alteration of roads on the Raincliff property. From Mr Morris, enclosing tracing showing the proposed plan of the new map. TENDERS. The Overseer was instructed to invite tenders for the following works : —l, Arming the road over (bo Oran Downs ; 2, forming diversion of Mount Peel road ; 3, fanning an Upper Rang! tat a road ; 4, outings on Cross road, Peel Forest ; 5, forming on Kakahu and Burke’s Peas road, near All&ndale, and to put on a man to clear out and improve the br die track over the Blue Mountain. After passing accounts to the amount of L 271 Is 2d, the Board adjourned.
