REGULATIONS FOR THE LICENSING AND MANAGEMENT OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES AND IN SPECTION THEREOF, ■ AND OF CATTLE INTENDED FOR SLAUGHTERS THE COUNTY OF GERALDINE. TN pursuance oijllio provisions !ji j.™ X Slaugliter Act, 1877," the County Council of the* County of Geraldine do hereby order as follows, that is to Hay : 1. Interpretation- Wherever in thes* Regulations any of the terms mentioned in section 5 of the said Act are used, such terms shall, iu the construction hereof, have the meaning assigned to them by Hie said section of the unless there be the context or subject-matter repugnant thereto. 2. Slaughter-houses to be kept cean. Every keeper of a Slaughter-house eliall' at [all times keep the same, and the premises connected therewith, and the appurtenances thereto belonging, in a clean state, free from offensive effluvia, and in all respects to the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed, or to be appointed, under the said Act ; and every such keeper of a Slaughterhouse shall so dispose of the blood, offal, drainage, and other refusematter therefrom that the same shall not create a nuisance, nor be offensive to persons residing or being in or passing through the neighborhood of such slaughterhouse; and no keeperofaslaughterhouse shall permit any blood, offal, drainage, or refuse-matter to accumulate, in, or upon, or about the same, or on the premises connected therewith, or to flow, fall, or bo thrown, or put into any river, stream, drain, or water-course. Every person who shall commit a breach of the above Regulations shall, on conviction thereof, be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds. Made by the Geraldine County Council at Temuka, in the County of Geraldine, this nineteenth d:<y of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty. CHARLES G. One Guinea (LI Is) must bo paid to the Secretary, Temuka. on entry, and the balance (L 3 3s) on or before the night of draw, or the money will be forfeited. For the Puppy Stakes, all en trie t be accompanied by breeders certificates, and Puppies must have been whelped o or after July Ist, 1878.
