NEXT ROYAL HOTEL, TEMUKA. REGULATIONS FOB THE -LICENSING AND MANAGEMENT OF SLAUGHTER HO ,SES AND iN SPECITON THEREOF, AND OF CATTLE INTENDED FOB SLAUGHTEB|IN THE COUNTY OF GERALDINE.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “ The Slaughter Act, 1877,” the County Council of the" County of Geraldine do hereby order as follows, that is to say : 1. internretation-Wherever in thecj Regulations any of the terms month ned in section sof the said Act are used, such terms shall, in the construction hereof, have the moaning assigned to them by the said section of the said Act, unless there be something in the context or subject-matter repugnant thereto. 2. Fees —Any person or persons slaughtering, or perpritting to be slaughtered? cat/le/foiCsale, barter or shipping, to the Clerk of the Council aTfe for a license, < r Rencwalfof a Incense, as follows - ; viz.— If (he number slaughtered is not more than Two Large or Ten Small Cattle per week, the sura of , L’2 ;if more than two Large or Tea Small Cattle per week, the sum of L 5. „ 8. Slaughter-houses to be kept cean, Ev'-ry keeper of a Slaughter-house shall fit all t'mes keep the cam", and the premi-cs connected therewith, and the appurtenances t.:e:Gto belonging, in a ch an st.de, free from offensive- effluvia, and in nil respects lo the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed, or to bo appointed, under the said Act ; and every such keeper of a Slaughterhouse shall so dispose of the blood, offal, drainage, and-other refusematter therefrom that the same shall not create a nuisance, nor be offensive to persons residing or being in or passing through the neighborhood of such sk.ughterhouse; and no keep'-rofa.-Liught.-r----house shall permit any blood, offi-l, drainage, or refuse-mailer lo accumulate, in. or upon, or about the same, or on the premises connected therewith, or to flow, fall, or be thrown, or put into any river, si ream, drain, or water-course. Every person who shall commit a broach of the above Regulations shall, on conviction tnereof, he liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds.
