Although suggestions that England should hand Herat over to the euro of Persia are being renewed by the Press, nothing positive is yet known as to the intentions of the British Government in the matter. It is stated that the Homo Rulers of Mayo, iu Ireland, intend to select Davitt and Brennan, now under committal for using seditious language at anti-rent meetings, as candidates for representing Mayo in Parliament, upon condition that they shall abstain from sitting in the House of Commons.
