NEXT ROYAL HOTEL, TEMUKA. REGULATIONS FOR THE LICENSING AND MANAGEMENT OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES AND IN SPECTION THEREOF, AND OF CATTLE INTENDED FOR SLAUGHTER IN THE COUNTY OF GERALDINE.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “ The Slaughter Act, 1877,” the County Council of the County of Geraldine do hereby order as follows, that is to say ; 1. Interpretation— Wherever in these Regulations any of the terms mentioned in section sof the said Act are used, such terms shall, in the construction hereof, have the meaning assigned to them by Rio said section of the said Act, unless there be something ffl the content or subject-mattap^ropugnaut-the reto. 2. Any person Jr persons slaughtering large and /nail cattle for sale not cxcccdim/WP© largo or ten small cattle per weik, shall pay a License Fee of .t42jymually, ami all other* persons slaughter above the number of two large and ten small cattle per week for sale shall pay a License Fee of £5 annually, 3. Slaughter-houses to bo kept dean. Every keeper of a Slaughter-home shall at all times keep the same, and the premises connected there* j with, and the appurtenances there- , to belonging, in a clean state, free from offensive effluvia, and in all respects to the satisfaction of any Inspector appointed, or to be appointed, under the said Act ; and every such keeper of a Slaughter - house shall so dispose of the blood, ■ * .offal, drainage, and other refuse- , matter therefrom that the same shall not create a nuisance, nor he offensive to persons residing os being in or passing through the neighborhood of such slaughterhouse; and no keeper of a slaughterhouse shall permit any blood, offal, drainage, or refuse-matter to accumulate. in, nr upon, or about Iks same, or on the premises connected tberewth, or to flow, fall, or be thrown, or put into any river, stream, drain, or water-course. Every person who shall commit a breach of the above Regulations shall, on conviction thereof, be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds.
