Melbothine, Jan. 22. Parliament will bo dissolved on the sth February. No performance took place last night at the Academy of Music in consequence of a prohibition issued by Mr Berry. Parliament reassembled on Tuesday, and there was a scene of continued excitement in the Assembly last night. Strangers were again excluded. The P. and 0. steamer Assam arrived in King George’s Sound to-day, with the inward December Suez mails. The Assam, with the Suez mail, was sighted off Albany at nine o’clock this morning, Sydney, Jan. 22. A sum of L 5500 has been remitted to the Lord Mayor of London as a contribution towards the Irish relief fund. Thirtysix Chinese residents subscribed together the sum of Lll4. An attempt was made to-day by a mounted man to bail up some Chinese living near Gimdagai. The matter was reported to tho police, who arc now in pursuit of the supposed bushranger. Mr Buchanan tabled a motion censuring tho Governor for commuting the' sen- 1 tfuces of William and Bennett. i
