R.M. COURT, TEMUKA.
Before F. Guinness, Esq., R. M. Wednesday, 21st Jan.. 1880. The Court sat at 10 a, m. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Robert Robertson, not appearing, Sergt, Carlyon s’id he had released the accused on bis paying 10s.—Fined 10s, to include costs. John Reid, not appearing to a similar charge, was fined LI, the amount of his bail. John Maher, for a like offence, pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s and costs, or 7 days’ imprisonmet. John Cain did not appear to answer a charge of using very abusive language in the hearing of a constable. Sergt. Carlyon stated that he had let accused out. on his own bail of L 5. His Worship ordered that a warrant b issued for his arrest, CIVIL CASES. vVm. Ackrnyd v M. Dunn —Claim L 55 9s 2d.—Mr Austin for plaintiff. It appears that defendant had filed his schedule. His Worship gave judgment for amount claimed and costs, in order that plaintiff might be able to prove in the estate for costs incurred. Napier and another v Thomsi u—Ch-i-n L 14 —Mr H imersley, plaintiff, Mr Austin for defendant. Case adjourned till next Court day. Dux Sir, a Chinaman v P. McCaskill —Claim L 7 Austin for j.l .intiff, Mr Hamersley for defendant. The plaintiff stated that he was engaged by defendant at L2 per week to wash wool. Defendant state 1 that no agreement was made with regard to wages,except that he was to get what he was worth. At the end of the first week he told plaintiff th ’t lie would give him 30s per week. His Worship said he would give judgment for L 4 and costs, out of pocket only, being L2 for first week, and 30s for the other two. He was not entitled to the odd three days, as he had left of Iris own accord.
