. . (Per Press Association.) Wellington, Nov. 24. In the House '6-day a number of questions of no general interest were asked and answered. The rest of the daj r was spent in committee on the Regulations Elections Act and the reading of the'Payment of Members’Bill the second time. The injuries sustained by the s.s. Tu which struck on the heads yesterday are more serf ms than was at first expected. About twelve plates will have to be replaced, and will cost about LSOO. At the sale to-day of Martin Borough’s land, which consisted of 40,000 acres and situate in the Wairarapa' district, several sections were sold at fair prices, a large number being bought in. John Francis Wilihoft, arrested here for larceny at Oamaru, was forwarded there by steamer to-day. The Mormon Elders addressed crowded meetings at the Temperance Hall yester- : day. They were attentively listened to,but expressions of disapproval of their views were occasionally-given. : Amongst other things they asserted that Latter Bay Saints have ; power to work miracles and to raise the dead,- and that - miracles have been wrought t hj them in-.-Newv-A Zealand.
