Sire, Emperor. Emperor has gained three first and three second prizes. Emperor’s sire, Napoleon (imported by Mr Nimmo). Napoleon, by G. Buchanan’s Emperor, is out of Nancy (imported), bred by A. Finlay, Esq., Sandyhills, near-Glasgow; Nancy by the celebrated Garnary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a three year old, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbride. She was next year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. Conqueror took the first prize as a two-yr. old at the Rlueskin Show, 1875, and second prize for All-Comers and Aged Horsc-s at the same show, and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a three-year old in a field of nine competitors.
