THE LATE DR. T. O. RAYNER.
In consequence of the hurried manner m which we necessarily published the proceedings of■the Temuka Road Board at their last sitting, the accompanying letter—which was written by the Board to the widow of the late Dr ilayner, sympa thising with her sad bereavement —was inadvertently omitted : Temuka Road Board Office, November 4th, 1879.
Dear Madame, — The Board deeply regret the death of their late Chairman, T. 0. Riiyner, M.D., who ably served the district in that capacity for upwards of 13 years, and to whom in a great measure is due the efficient state of the local works and institutions of the Temuka distr'ct. T<;e Board also desire respectfully to offer to Mrs Rayner and family their p:\">cere sympathy and condolence with them in. their bereavement. J. Talbot, Chairman, R. A. Barker, A. W. Essor, M. Quinn. P.S.— Mr Haylmrat, who would undoubtedly join us in the above sentiment, is unfortunately absent. J.T.
