GARDEN CALENDAR.

FOR OCTOBER. Kitchen Gaiu>kn\ —Whatever vegetables not sown, as recommended .last month, should be done now r.t once ; also if any planting remain unfinished, it should be completed with all possible despatch. The crops of early Potatoes in some localities will be above ground and would be benefited by a slight covering of earth, as a protection against frost, Plant Potatoes, Cabbages of sorts, &c. Subdue all weeds during bright sunshine. In heat sow Vegetable. Marrow.

Fruit Depautmknt.—Protect the blooms of fruit-trees with scrub :uis-biu! Peaches, Nectarines, and Apricots. The pointed single buds, with a brownish envelope, are leaf buds : higher up the shoot aic triple buds, which produce a leaf bud in the centre : the outer two are f/uit buds. Look Over all budded and grafted trees, and remove suckers. See tnat tsc clay on those newly grafted is Sound ; if not repair it Clean the beds of Strawberries from weeds and dry leaves, ami, if not previously clone, mulch with dung between the rows. Dry fruit borders would also he better for a good mulch nig, so as : to retain moistness.

Flower Department. Diluted liquid manure manure should be applied to all pot plants occasionally. Growing p'ants require to be shified into larger pots, which should be we'd drained, and the plants should be potted always dry into dry pots.
