The piominent Home Rulers are stumping the southern provinces in Ireland, addressing large and enthusiastic meetings, and greatly increasing the spirit of sedition.
Three per cent consols are at 97|. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,750,000 quarters. At the wool sales to-day 9,500 bales were catalogued. The market was quiet. Constantinople, Sept. 1. With reference to the telegram from Athens, dated August 28, stating that the Porte had agreed to the protocol of the Conference as a basis for negotiations for settling the Greek frontier question it is now understood that the consent of the Porte will be subject to important reservations.
St. Petersburg, Sept. 1. General Lazaroff, who commanded the Turkoman expedition, is dead. The Czar has arranged to meet the Emperor of Germany at Konigsben. Singapore, Sept. 1. The schooner Suwahani, from here to Freemantle, was wrecked off Angers Point on the 31st August.
