Floods at Gra#on have partially destroyed the maize crops. _ Two girls were drowned in the Ladies' Bachs on Saturday. Melbourne, June 30. The police are pursuing a party of five men who passed through Caroba on Friday night. The fugitives spent £lO, and showed police uniforms under their clothes. It has been clearly ascertained they were not policemen. It is believed they were the Kellys. ' F. M. Bates, the well-known actor, was found dead on Flemington Road with marks of violence on his body. The circumstances are suspicious. Launceston, June 30. The Volunteers have been called out for active service under .the Mutiny Act, in consequence of Father Chiniquy lecturing again to-night. The police have started in pursuit of another party who are supposed to be the Kellys.
